Color me flattered

Check out what showed up on Sew and So, a blog I happen to follow. It's a Tardis Tissue box cozy! My original post is easily my most popular post ever, and I'm so excited to see someone pick it up and run with it.

I've been thinking about making a new one myself, since the original was sent off to the UK for a craft swap, and it would be nice to put together a better tutorial. Someday when I have time.

LOLOLOL

Have you seen Teh Yarn Bukkit, by Craftster user angelbum? It's awesome!

Not only is it practical and cute, it's also flippin' hilarious If you still think LOLcats are funny (I do...). Plus, bonus, it's recycled. check out the needle storage:

I copied the basic shape to make a Christmas present for my knitting mother in law. It's a little more classic than hilarious, but I'm still going to share a tutorial with you as soon as I get one together.

"Good People Have Things That Are Handmade"

Joss Whedon, the wunderkind behind Buffy et al, has finally been interviewed by CrochetMe. If you didn't hear about their original call, they've been crafting as hard as they can to get his attention, and it paid off.

The best part is, Joss himself is well versed in craft. His wife is a quilter and a crocheter, and he has been known to pick up the needles himself. And he uses the word "decoupage." Got to love that.

Kawaii Cupcakes

Martha Stewart hosted a Cutest Cupcake Contest recently. The above is my favorite (it was a finalist but did not win). I like it because it is ingenious, but looks like anyone could make it, and does not contain fondant (guess what I don't like). I'm guessing the "dirt" is crumbled chocolate cookie, and the plant is your standard sprig of mint. Brilliant!

Have been crafting diligently myself, but nothing to post right now. Comic-Con approaches!

Sakura Lights

Craftster challenges come up with great things. Check out these sakura lights by sf craftster.

A side note: When I google image searched "sakura" some Naruto/Sakura shipper fan art came up, and I threw up a little bit in my mouth. Sorry fan art person, I ship for Naruto/Hinata and Rock Lee/Sakura ;)

I Bought a Print

I just bought a giclee print from Terrace Gallery on Etsy. I plan to put it in my living room, somewhere. I've always had movie posters from my oeuvre on the walls, but these are starting to seem pretty uninspired and juvenile. Also, most of these movies suck.

So here's to a first step towards growing up my living room... :)

Belts from Ties

I like colorful accessories. I think this project is a great way to turn ties that would be hideous with a suit into belts that would be cute to wear with jeans. You can find bags of bright, otherwise useless ties at most thrift stores.

Tie Belt

I think I may use this idea as part of a costume for Geoff's new short movie.
